How to integrate igloohome with Chekin

With Chekin you can connect your igloohome smart locks so that your guests automatically receive the access codes when they complete the online check-in. This way, you save time and avoid manual code generation.

1. igloconnect setup (required before integration)

Before connecting igloohome with Chekin, you must first configure your account in igloconnect:

  1. Go to igloconnect and log in with your igloohome credentials.

  2. If not already done, pair your devices in the igloohome app.

  3. Navigate to Settings > Post Paid and tap “Set up Stripe Payment”, then follow the instructions.

    • Note: API subscription fee: $2 per active device/month.

⚠️ Without completing this step, customers may not be billed correctly and their accounts risk suspension.


2. Introduction

igloohome allows you to manage different types of access for your locks. When integrated with Chekin, the system automatically creates and shares the necessary codes with your guests.

There are three possible methods to provide access with igloohome:

  • Only Link: generates and shares a link for remote access.
    ⚠️ Note: a Bridge is required for this option to work.

  • Only Code: generates a PIN code for access (requires configuration in the igloohome portal).

  • Code and Link: combines both methods, sending a link and a PIN code (requires configuration in the igloohome portal).

⚠️ Important: For "Only Code" and "Code and Link" options, your locks must have a keypad installed.

 

3. How to connect igloohome with Chekin

  1. Go to your Chekin Dashboard and navigate to remote access.

  2. Select igloohome from the list of available integrations.


  3. Log in with your igloohome account credentials to authorize the connection.

  4. Once connected, your properties and locks will appear in Chekin.

  5. Assign each property in Chekin to the corresponding lock in Igloohome.

From this point, every time a guest completes their online check-in, Chekin will automatically create and send the access credentials (link, code, or both depending on your Igloohome settings).

4. API Process (for technical reference)

On the technical side, igloohome integration works through API endpoints that exchange access information between Chekin and Igloohome.

The main actions covered are:

  • Create Access: Generates access credentials (link/code).

  • Update Access: Modifies existing credentials.

  • Delete Access: Cancels guest access when a reservation is cancelled.

  • Remote Opening: Opens locks remotely if enabled.
