Sending a Custom Online Check-in Email


When you enable Send guest check-in link by email in your property configuration, Checkin will automatically send our default check-in email to your guests for each booking.

This default email includes the guest’s online check-in link and works out of the box.

How to send a personalized check-in email?

If you want to send your own custom email, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Communications.
  2. Create a new email template (or edit an existing one).
  3. Add the following tag anywhere in the email content:
  4. {checkin_online_link}
  5. Save the template.

Once this tag is included, your custom email will contain the guest’s online check-in link.

Important to know

  • Editing or creating this template does not activate other automations.
  • This custom email will be used for all your properties where online check-in emails are enabled.
  • If the {checkin_online_link} tag is not included, guests will not receive the check-in link.
