How to connect Chekin with Alloggiati

In this article we will help you to complete the configuration between Alloggiati and Chekin

Alloggiati Service - Polizia di Stato

The website Alloggiati Web is an online portal managed by the Italian State Police and is used for reporting guest stays in tourist accommodation facilities in Italy, such as hotels, campsites, bed and breakfasts, rental apartments, and other hospitality establishments.

The service was introduced in compliance with Italian regulations requiring the registration of all individuals staying in tourist accommodation facilities, in order to ensure public safety and help prevent possible crimes.

Hotel owners and other accommodation managers are required to register their guests’ stays through the AlloggiatiWeb portal by entering the requested information on the website. In this way, the information is transmitted to the competent authorities, such as the State Police, allowing them to monitor guest presences in real time.

How to connect Chekin to the Alloggiati portal

Chekin allows the connection between your property and booking management system with the “Alloggiati” portal in order to facilitate the transmission of information required by law.

This functionality enables us to automate the process of sending information to the web portal, relieving the property owner from any bureaucratic procedures related to this type of tourism regulation.

To start the connection procedure between Chekin and the Alloggiati portal, you must have the following information available. Below you will also find instructions on how to obtain it.

1. Access credentials

You must have access credentials for the portal:
Alloggiati Web Portal

These credentials consist of a username and a password.

2. Web Service Key (How to find it?)

The Web Service Key can be obtained from the Alloggiati portal. Once logged in, go to the top-right corner where the user icon is located. By clicking on it, you will see the option to obtain the key; click on the option again to generate it.

Once you access this option, a screen will appear showing the key, consisting of an encrypted code made up of numbers, letters, and symbols. You will need to copy this key so that you can save it when Chekin requests it.

NOTE: If no key is displayed, you must press the “Generate Service Key” button; under no circumstances should you press it if a key is already present, as this could interrupt the functionality already configured with Chekin.

3. Apartments

In the top menu, you must access the “Apartments” option. From there, you need to verify that all your apartments are registered in the lower menu; otherwise, you must manually add the missing ones, as this is an essential requirement when connecting Chekin in order to link each apartment in the application with the Alloggiati portal. Additionally, this is a legal requirement in itself.

If there is no “Apartments” section in your Alloggiati account, it means that your account is configured as an Owner account, and therefore it is not necessary to add any apartments in Alloggiati.

Connecting the application

To connect all this information with Chekin, you must go to the followi

ng link in your browser:
Chekin Dashboard Properties
and select the corresponding property.

Once inside, you must select the “Legality” section and enter the required information in the corresponding fields.

  1. In the first field, select “Polizia di Stato”.

  2. In the second field, enter the username used to access the Alloggiati portal.

  3. In the third field, enter the password used to access the Alloggiati portal.

  4. In the fourth field, enter the Web Service Key (Service Key) that you previously copied from the Alloggiati portal.

Additionally, a list will be displayed showing all the properties that have been added in Alloggiati; you must select from the list the one that corresponds to Chekin.

For example, if you have 2 properties in Alloggiati, one called “Hotel Milano” and the other “Hotel Firenze”, and in Chekin you also have these two properties registered with the same names, then when configuring the “Hotel Milano” property, you must select “Hotel Milano” from the menu during the connection process with the police system.

After this process, click on “Validate” and the data will be linked to the portal.

If after completing all these steps the error persists, we invite you to contact our support team so we can advise you on the procedure and verify that everything has been carried out correctly.

How to interpret the Alloggiati Forms

Example of a booking from May 24 to May 26 (2 nights) for 3 guests

The generated form will be as follows:

1. Field "Number of Days of Stay" — nights or days?

Despite the field being called "days", the Alloggiati Web system expects the number of nights declared by the guest at the time of arrival, not calendar days. On the Italian State Police Alloggiati Web portal, you must always enter only the number of nights, not days.

From Chekin’s side, we send the correct number of nights to Alloggiati Web — this is handled correctly on our end.

2. "GG PERMANENZA PRESUNTA TOT" on the receipt — what is it?

This field is not something that Chekin sends — it is calculated entirely by Alloggiati Web on their side after receiving our data. The GG PERMANENZA PRESUNTA TOT represents the total number of overnight stays for the purpose of tourist tax declarations. So you will see 6, that menans 2x3.

PLEASE NOTE: Alloggiati Web automatically calculates the total number of stays by multiplying the number of nights by the number of guests declared, generating the final value recorded in its system.

The word "presumed" is used because the communicated nights are based on what the guest declared upon arrival — the guest could leave earlier and, in that case, no further communication to the Questura is required.

In practice: Chekin sends the correct number of nights per guest to Alloggiati Web. Alloggiati Web then multiplies nights × number of guests on their side to produce the GG PERMANENZA PRESUNTA TOT shown on the receipt. This total is then shared through the channel Police Headquarters → Ministry → Revenue Agency and used to cross-check tourist tax declarations.
