FNRH — Digital Guest Registration in Brazil 🇧🇷
How the Chekin integration with Brazil's official guest registration system works.
What is the FNRH?
The FNRH (Ficha Nacional de Registro de Hóspedes) is Brazil's official digital guest registration system, managed by the Ministry of Tourism. It replaces the traditional paper registration card that guests used to fill out at reception — now fully digital and connected directly to the government.
Every adult guest must have a registration record, and minors must be linked as dependents of a responsible adult.
Official reference: FNRH Guest Management — gov.br
Why is it mandatory?
Legal compliance
Hotels in Brazil are legally required to register every guest staying at the property and report their stay to the authorities. This is equivalent to guest registration cards in Europe, police reporting systems in other countries, and immigration notification systems.
Tourism statistics
Brazil also uses the data to track travel purpose, tourist origin, and tourism flow across the country.
Consequences of non-compliance
Failure to register guests may be considered a breach of hospitality reporting obligations. Possible consequences include:
- Administrative penalties
- Issues during inspections
- Fines depending on local regulations
- Problems during audits
How to activate the integration
To connect your property to the FNRH through Chekin, you need the following credentials issued by the Ministry of Tourism system:
-
API Username — Provided by the FNRH government system under "Chave de Acesso API's".
-
API Password (Access Key) — Also found in "Chave de Acesso API's". Note: the access key does not expire, but generating a new key will invalidate the previous one.
-
CPF of the responsible operator — Enter the CPF of the operator or requester who will perform the registrations. This is required by the FNRH API for all registration endpoints.
-
Click Save and wait for the Success confirmation message.
This setup registers guests at arrival time, without creating reservations in advance.

What Chekin handles automatically
Once the integration is active, Chekin takes care of the full communication with the government system:
- Creates the official stay record when the guest arrives
- Sends the registration to the Ministry of Tourism
- Links minors to the responsible adult
- Automatically reports arrival, departure, and no-shows
No spreadsheets. No manual access to the government portal. No paper forms. Guests fill in their information and the record is transmitted digitally.
