Updated over a week ago

To access Chekin API, you'll need an API key.

The API key can be uses in the API integration or just for the embedded online check-in service.

Generating API Key

You can automatically generate an API key from the Chekin dashboard. To start go to the account settings and select the Online check-in in the lateral menu.

Scroll to the subsection "Embedded Online Check-in" and click the "Generate API Key" button.

A pop-up will prompt to add the following data:

  • API Key name: Free text to you to identify the API key.

  • Your DNS: The DNS server of the website where you are going to host the embedded online check-in.

When you're ready, click the "Generate API Key" button.

Now you will see the new API Key generated.

Important: Your API keys carry many privileges, so be sure to keep them secure! Do not share your secret API keys in publicly accessible areas such as GitHub, client-side code, and so forth.

Generating extra API keys

By default you can only generate one API key per account form teh dashboard, however, we could enable multiple API keys upon request.

If you'd like to have multiple API keys, please contact support for further assistance.
